How do I register my pet?

Information regarding cost of animal registration.

Port Stephens animal registrations are for the lifetime of the animal, and fees do not have to be paid annually once the animal is registered under the lifetime system. If the animal is either sold or given away to a new owner, Council does need to be informed to change the animal's contact details. The animal is also placed on the state wide companion animal register.

 Cost
 De-sexed animal $40.00
De-sexed animal owned by eligible pensioner $15.00
 Animal not desexed $150.00
(Note: No pensioner discount is given if the animal is not de-sexed)
Animal kept by a registered breeder (not de-sexed) $40.00
Animal kept at a premises of an accredited researcher $40.00

Please provide the following documents at the time of registration:
 Verification of the microchipping number
If the animal is de-sexed, you will need to supply verification from the Vet who carried out the procedure
If a breeding animal, registration card from the Canine Association
If claiming a pension discount, supply your pension card.
