Port Stephens Council monitors the quality of waterways throughout the local government area as part of the Clean Waterways Program. The Environmental Levy is funding monitoring until 30 June 2006.

There are a number of objectives to this monitoring:

  • Increase the quantity and quality of baseline data of estuarine health
  • Identify pollution sources and strategies to improve the health of our waterways
