Family History Society Inc. Port StephensPort Stephens Family History Society was formed in 1986 (formerly known as Tilligerry Family History Society). The Society has its own research library at the Tilligerry Community Centre, Lemon Tree Passage, which is available for both members and non-members to use (a small fee is charged for non-members). The Society has a licence from the LDS Church to act as a Research Centre, allowing the Society to order in Microfilm, a service available to all researchers in Port Stephens. The library's Australian collection includes an ever expanding range of: The overseas collection primarily covers the countries of Great Britain but also includes records from some European countries and New Zealand. The library is open each Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm; and on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month between 1pm and 4pm (except Saturdays which fall on a long weekend). The Society also has a 3-4 week recess between mid December and mid-January. Our publications include
All of these publications are available from our Society at Lemon Tree Passage; from Port Stephens Council in Raymond Terrace; and from the Tilligerry Habitat Shop at Tanilba Bay.
