Nomination Process
Follow these simple steps to nominate your sport hero
Important Dates:
Qualifying Period: 1 October 2007 - 30 September 2008
Nominations Close: 30 September 2008
Judging: 9 October 2008
Finalists Notified: 13 October 2008
Awards Presentation: 6 November 2008 at Nelson Bay Diggers
Why Nominate:
- Provide those involved in sport in Port Stephens with an opportunity to celebrate its best achievements in sport
- Recognise the contribution made to sport in our area
- Provide role models for the sporting community and the public
- Provide an opportunity for sportspeople to celebrate
- Recognise volunteers and staff for their contribution
- Provide opportunities to gain media recognition for the finalists
- Raising the profile of sport as an industry
- Funds raised from Sports Star related activities will be dedicated to assisting in the development of under-privileged junior sportspeople
Conditions:
- Each award has specific criteria, however all awards must recognise outstanding contribution the individual, team or organisation has made towards the sport industry in Port Stephens
- The nomination period covers programs, achievements and/or initiatives taking place from the 1st October 20067– 30th September 2008
- Port Stephens Council may use information provided in the nomination forms for publicity.
- Nomination forms and supporting material will not be returned after judging.
- Please provide three high-resolution images (where possible) – including at least one action and one portrait style.
Nomination Guidelines
- Download the Nomination Checklist & Nomination Form at the bottom of this page.
- Address the relevant category description in the nomination form.
- Please limit any supporting information to no more than 2 A4 pages. Feel free to provide a video, CD, floppy discs to support the nomination.
- More than one nomination may be submitted (Each nomination must be completed separately)
