Film and Still Photography Bookings

Port Stephens offers idyllic settings for many filming and photographic opportunities with a great variety of bush and beach scenery.
Many locations have been used in feature films, documentaries and advertisements. Stockton Bight is one of the most popular sites in the area to film with its rolling sand dunes and unique environment. View the Port Stephens Tourism Website.
Filming at Stockton Bight [Only]
Port Stephens Council recognises the cultural significance of Stockton Bight to the Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council and consequently all applications for filming on Stockton Bight or the sand dune area received by Council are forwarded to the WLALC for their approval in the first instance.
All filming in parks is managed in accordance with the Draft Hunter Regional Film Policy, which details applicable fees and charges, administrative procedures and other requirements.
General Terms & Conditions (For full details view the Application Form below)
- Parks and Reserves are public areas and free access to all areas for the public must be maintained
- Driving over vegetated dunes is strictly prohibited
- Council does not permit camping on its reserves at any time
- No posters or signs are to be placed on telegraph poles, trees or anywhere within roadways advertising the event
- All information pertaining to electricity, caterers, number of vehicles and staff, details of all temporary structures/props and sound amplification will be required by Council
- Alcohol consumption is not permitted in Council reserves from the hours of 9pm to 8am
- The applicant must provide current documentation (Certificate of Currency) of public liability insurance (under which the Council is jointly indemnified) to the extent of at least $10 million before filming can be approved
- A site inspection with the Parks Co-ordinator may be required before and after filming to check the site before bond is refunded
- An Application Form must be completed and sent to the contact officer to be processed before approval can be granted
- When approved, Council will send written confirmation of booking to the applicant
- Payment is made after booking is approved
- Bond and usage fee are non refundable if activity does not take place and forfeited upon non compliance with written conditions
