Raymond Terrace Historical Society inc,

Founded in 1974, it is the aim of this voluntary group to bring together people who share a love of their heritage, admire the achievements of people of the past, and desire to discover, record and publicise these people, their lives, and the times in which they lived.

Membership is by application and is open to all who support the objectives of the Society.
Joining Fee $2.00 Annual Membership $15.00 Concession Membership $10.00
Local Members are encouraged to participate in duties related to the manning and maintenance of Sketchley Cottage and/or the Research Facilities.
Member's meetings are held at St Brigids Hall William Street, Raymond Terrace on the third Friday of each month at 7:30pm.

Sketchley Pioneer Cottage and Museum the Historical Society is based at the Cottage complex, on Adelaide Street (old Pacific Highway) approximately 12km north of the Hexham Bridge, on the western side of the road adjacent to Bettles Park, and the grand old fig trees adjacent to the Cottage, pedestrian traffic lights and parking area.
Opening Hours are Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Group Visits are available by arrangement at other times, escorted walking tours of the town are also available.

Research Facilities
The Society maintains a Research Room at the Library in Port Stephens Street, Raymond Terrace which is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

A valuable collection of books, maps, photos & records on paper, microfiche etc., regarding people, events, births, deaths, marriages and cemeteries in the district are available for reference.
A nominal fee is charged for use of these facilities.
